Ninjas? Sharks? Trailer For New Koichi Sakamoto Film Brings The Two Together
Koichi Sakamoto, a director and stunt coordinator known for his work with the Power Rangers and Super Sentai franchises, is back with a new movie. This movie is called Yojū Kitan: Ninja vs Shark (妖獣奇譚 ニンジャVSシャーク, roughly “Bizarre Story of a Monster: Ninja vs. Shark”), which appears to be Jaws meets Enter the Ninja. Except that seems to be a simplification, the movie also appears to feature zombies and possibly even vampires.
The synopsis of the film reads:
“In the Edo period, at the remote village of Okitsu, the evil cult leader Koushirou uses ninjutsu to control sharks and forces them to attack local pearl divers so the cult can steal the pearls from their mangled corpses. Desperate for help, the village chief hires Kotaro Shiozaki, a guard at a nearby temple, but Kotaro soon finds his path blocked by lady ninja Kikuma, and a gigantic shark that doesn’t seem like something from this world.”
