New Report Indicates Marvel Will Skip San Diego Comic-Con This Year
It appears San Diego Comic-Con might be without one of the titans of the comic industry this year. Marvel reportedly has decided to skip San Diego altogether. This is not entirely out of the left-field as they have skipped Comic-Con both in 2018 and 2021. The decision is still a shocking one if the report is accurate. For a convention centered around all things comics, being without one of the largest publishers of comic books in the United States. is devastating.
Perhaps this is merely a move made due to scheduling. Marvel has a lot on its plate right now with Thor: Love and Thunder releasing on July 8, just two weeks before the convention would begin. On the other hand, Marvel might be saving its big reveals for the D23 Expo in September to be more in line with Disney, Marvel's Parent Company. Either way, fans of the studio and Comic-Con will no doubt be upset that the publishing juggernaut will not be present this year. Surely San Diego Comic-Con will have a massive amount of events to keep comic book fans entertained even without Marvel making an appearance.
San Diego Comic-Con 2022 will run from July 21 to the 24, and we look forward to seeing fans of everything pop culture return.
