New Loki Figure Reveals The Name Of The Main MCU Timeline?

Hot off the heels of the hit shows WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier comes Marvel's next big release - Loki.

Last seen escaping with the Tesseract (Space Stone) during the time heist sequence of Avengers: Endgame, fans have been speculating about the details of the show and how exactly this is all going to actually work out. Especially since before the time heist, Loki was unfortunately taken out of the game by Thanos. Having said that, it wouldn't be the first time Loki has come back from the dead, or second. Despite this, though it does seem to be clear, from everything we've seen and know so far about the show, that this is going to be an alternate version of the original Loki, and the show may actually be quite important in the overall MCU, with regards to what we will learn about the main timeline from it.

The show is set to pick up from where we left Loki in Endgame, when he used the Tesseract to escape, and will also introduce us to the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This is an agency dedicated to monitoring all the different realities across the Multiverse. Thanks to the recent trailer, we know Owen Wilson will show up playing a TVA agent, Mobius, and he will arrest Loki. No doubt having something to do with the changes in timelines caused by the events of Endgame.

Thanks to an upcoming Loki action figure being released to tie in with the show, we may have just got our first hint at the importance of the main MCU timeline. The description on the back of the box refers to the main MCU timeline as the "Sacred" one. Part of Hasbro's Marvel Legends Series, you can pre-order the toy now on Amazon for $19.99, but check it out below first:

The description on the back reads:

"Mere moments after his escape during the events of

Avengers Endgame, Loki is apprehended by the

TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY (TVA) and arrested for

his crimes against the 'sacred timeline'.”

Whilst we don't know exactly what crimes he has been accused of, it does confirm it will be the version of Loki from the 2012 New York invasion. As mentioned above, the MCU main timeline version of Loki is seemingly gone for good. Although Endgame ends with each Infinity Stone going back to the point in time it was taken, we've yet to actually see if this itself did cause any issues. The upcoming Marvel films are set to focus on the Multiverse and different realities, so we may be about to see if it did. The greatest thing about this is the fact it gives us a rare look at the same characters just...different. Imagine if the events of Ragnarok played out completely differently and Loki didn't help Thor, so Hela won.

The fact that Loki was able to escape means this version will not follow the same story arc of the original Loki, as he would later redeem himself and die very much a hero. This "other" Loki will still be the mischievous version who brought an entire alien army to conquer Earth in the last week. He may cause some trouble, and I think this may be what makes Loki another win for Marvel.

Loki, starring the wonderful Tom Hiddleston, is set to premier on Disney+ June 3.

Until next time!
