Three new exciting images have been released for the animated adaptation of the popular graphic novel series, Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham. Hellboy fans should be on the lookout as Mike Mignola was partly responsible for the original book and his signature humor and flare for the dramatic is stamped all over the source material.

The animated movie is jointly directed by Sam Liu and Christopher Berkley. The three stills released give a surprising amount away. They show Batman, Talia al Ghul, Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent and Oliver Queen awkwardly embracing. Oswald Cobblepot, Oracle, Jason Blood, Lucius Fox and Ra’s al Ghul will also be making appearances.

The art does not appear to be as dark as the graphic novel, which suggests they may be stepping away from the overt horror aspect of the 2000/2001 book. Still, of late the animated Batman films have been carrying the torch for the caped crusader, and there’s plenty of voice talent here to back it up.
