More 'Andor' Set Photos Leaked From A New Interesting Place

New movies or shows with major fan followings always run the risk of leaks here and there. As the internet has made people more and more connected, the chances of leaks for a show or movie have grown a lot in recent years. That chance grows astronomically when a series of shows set in the same universe is announced at one time and begins filming almost concurrently. Star Wars is a series that has certainly had its fair share of leaks, and there have been several in the past few weeks. One of the most recent leaks comes in the form of some set photos from the new Disney+ series Andor

The Reddit page r/StarWarsLeaks shared several more set photos for the new show. This comes on top of the set photos that were leaked a couple of weeks ago, showing a shipyard, several green screens attached to cranes, and a couple of new ships appearing in the show. The new pictures show a very different set to the ones we saw weeks ago.

The new photos come from an area called Winspit Quarry, and it shows a much more rural area with lots of grassy hills as opposed to the mostly ship-filled lots of the previous set photos. Another big difference between the two leaks is the sheer number of photos taken with the new leak. The leak from weeks ago only showed a handful of pictures, but the one from Winspit Quarry has 21, which seems like a large number of photos in terms of leaked pictures.

These new photos also show some large stone ruins and pillars of an old building, which don’t appear to be recreated by the production crew. Perhaps the biggest difference between the previously leaked set photos and the new ones from Winspit is the lack of any kind of set decoration. The first set of photos had a lot of ships and props on the set to add detail. These photos show very few props on set, and the few that are there don’t appear to be fully constructed or placed yet. This could imply that the scenes filmed there are more of a hiding spot for a rebel base or perhaps a battlefield.

Of course, this is all purely speculation. The area brings back memories of Ach-To from the sequel trilogy, but there is likely no possibility that it is the same planet. With the lack of props and set construction, it is hard to make even the vaguest speculation about what planet these scenes could take place on or what planet it even is.

Obviously, this set is still extremely early in production, and that is probably why these many photos were able to be leaked so easily. There is also the chance that these shots are from parts of the show that feature little to no characters in them, and that would explain why they are so barren. These leaks are also incredibly impressive because, even though it has had its fair share of leaks, Star Wars has a great track record with keeping its secrets. That is how we got so many truly shocking and awe-inspiring moments in The Mandalorian. That makes these leaks slightly concerning, but as I said above, maybe that is the price that must be paid for announcing and shooting several shows in the same universe all at once in different locations. There may also just be less to hide for these shows.

Either way, it is great to see that production is steadily moving ahead with more Star Wars content. Andor is a prequel/spin-off to Rogue One, which will follow Cassian Andor in his adventures before that of the movie. Diego Luna is reprising his role, and Alan Tudyk is expected to reprise his role as K-2SO in a later season. Andor is currently filming, and it is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
