Matt Shakman, Director Of 'WandaVision' Is In Talks To Direct The New 'Fantastic Four'
The upcoming Fantastic Four movie is a highly anticipated project that fans of the MCU have been begging to see come to fruition. On the heels of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studies confirmed the film, and that Kevin Feige is producing it.
Jon Watts was on board to direct, however Deadline reports that he has stepped down due to needing a well-earned break after directing the blockbuster smash, Spider-Man: No Way Home. As prized as this movie property is the director chosen must be someone truly special. Rumors have been buzzing all over the internet that Matt Shakman may be in talks over fulfilling this role.
If you don’t know his name, you certainly should. He directed the first of the Disney+ limited series – Wanda Vision with great success. Wanda Vision earned several award nominations, including Best Director. In addition, he is known for his work directing Game of Thrones, The Great, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Per Deadline, “the film would kick off Phase 6, bowing on November 8, 2024. It will be followed by two Avengers movies: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2 of that year, and Avengers: Secret Wars just six months later.” This gives fans a timeline with multiple films to look forward to.
