Marvel’s Secret Invasion just got an updated description on Disney+. The description states that Secret Invasion will be a “Crossover event series.”  Secret Invasion will be the first Marvel series to officially be labeled as a “crossover series.” This also implies that Secret Invasion will feature several heroes that were in previous Marvel movies and TV shows outside of the ones that have already been announced.

While other heroes have previously appeared in Marvel series like Hawkeye and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this could bring in a range of heroes from the previous movies. Characters like Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Hawkey, and even Doctor Strange could make an appearance. The fact that Disney classifies the show as a “crossover event,” supports the idea that this could the equivalent of Avengers: Endgame for the Marvel series.

The story will also feature the return of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, so fans will hopefully finally learn what he has been doing since he was last seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hopefully, the series will give fans an idea of where the MCU will be headed in the future phases. In comics, the Skrulls have often infiltrated the Avengers disguised as other Marvel heroes, and it seems this is the direction the show will be taking as well. This could potentially have lasting impacts on the MCU heading into Phases 5 and 6 and moving closer to Avengers: Secret Wars

Regardless of the implications, Secret Invasion seems like it will be a fantastic crossover event. The possibilities for heroes to appear are endless, and the espionage story of hidden Skrulls sounds captivating. Fans will, unfortunately, have to wait a little longer to find out which heroes are real and which are Skrulls, but there will surely be more than a few hints along the way.
