Marvel Studios Released The First Look At 'Thunderbolts' At D23 Expo
As D23 unfolds, we are getting waves of updates about all things Marvel! Day one saw Chadwick Boseman inducted into Disney Legends, and today we have been getting plenty of exciting news about most of Marvel’s upcoming projects, including talks about a director for Fantastic Four, concept art reveals, new trailers, and casting news.
The newest announcement comes from Kevin Feige himself, and it is fans’ first look at the upcoming Thunderbolts cast and concept art! Fans were surprised during San Diego Comi-Con when the film was announced as the cap for Phase 5, but details have been kept under wraps until now. However, according to the first look, fans can expect to see the team led by Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. Yelena will be joined by Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker, a.k.a US Agent, Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, and rounding out the team is Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Val.
The film's official plot is still unknown, but we do know that the film will be based on the comics, and according to IMDB, “a group of supervillains are recruited to go on a mission for the government.” The film is expected to be Marvel’s response to DC’s Suicide Squad, will be directed by Jake Schreier, and has a release date of 2024.
