Marvel Comics Will Begin A New 'Invincible Iron Man' Series In December
Good news for comic fans and general fans of the albeit occasionally problematic Tony Stark alike: a new Invincible Iron Man comic run has been ordered. With artist Juan Frigeri and writer Gerry Duggan at the helm, the series is set to follow up Christopher Cantwell’s current Iron Man run. The series is currently going to release with Issue #1 on December 7th of this year.
The story will pick up where Tony Stark is now. Beaten by a major villain, the man loses everything. The full synopsis from Marvel reads, “It all ends here? Tony Stark, the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist, has lost it all: his wealth…his fame…his friends. But Stark doesn’t realize he still has so much more to lose, especially when a mystery villain puts out a hit on him! Every assassin around the Marvel Universe has come out of the shadows for Tony — and he has no idea who hired them! Will this cavalcade of killers close the book on Iron Man? It’s the beginning of the end, as the Golden Avenger must fight for his life and find out what it really means to hit rock bottom.”

Plenty is in store for this upcoming comic run. Tony will be facing difficult challenges all piled together while reflecting on his past. The current Iron Man run saw Tony tackle addiction in rehab, fight a villain, and propose to his lover, among other highs and lows. It makes the reader wonder what else can be thrown at the hero that will really challenge him. With these new obstacles and old reflections, all fans should be pleased with this arc.
This is the 60th anniversary of Tony’s character, so there are definitely some expectations set. With a stellar writer and artist slated for the run, those expectations will surely be met. Look out for the new Invincible Iron Man run in December, and enjoy!
