Marvel Announces New Comic Run Titled 'Bloodline: Daughter Of Blade' During NYCC
The Marvel Universe has boasted an extensive roster of characters that crosses numerous story-telling genres. The famous Vampire Hunter, Blade, is no exception, as his literary popularity is still credited for launching the current era of superhero movies. The next generation of vampire hunters is getting ready to take the stage with the latest series announcement from Marvel at New York Comic-Con 2022.
The concept of a daughter for Blade had been suggested years ago and reportedly stayed in development before debuting in Avengers/X-men in early 2022, on free comics day. Brielle's personality is that of a "good kid" but still willing and able to fight the night's evil. She will be the star of her series entitled, Bloodline: The Daughter of Blade, written and illustrated by Danny Lore and Karen Darboe, respectively. The new series will focus on Blade's daughter Brielle Brooks, who joins Marvel's Roster of teen heroes.
The series announcement comes as Blade is set to be rebooted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portrayed by Mahershela Ali. Wesley Snipes previously acted in Blade in the 1990's films made by New Line Cinema. Blade first appeared in The Tomb of Dracula #10 in July of 1973 and managed to be a mainstay of the supernatural part of Marvel's Universe for the last 5 decades.
