LEGO ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Sets Guinness World Record
Using 150 million LEGO blocks, three years of work, and a group of 50 mad genius designers, The Lord of the Rings has officially set the Guinness World Record for the world’s Largest Mini Brick Build. Using Peter Jackson’s award-winning epic movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s books to bring Middle-earth to life, they’ve meticulously created a LEGO likeness of the entirety of Middle-earth from the Shire to Mordor.
Check out this awe-inspiring video of the build, set to a Howard Shore-inspired score.
The set was constructed at Blocks Kingdom’s Smaerd Land in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, and measures some 2,060 square feet. It was inspired by the many battles in TLOTR. Apparently, battles and Legos go together because there’s also a Guinness Record for the biggest Stormtrooper army, among many others.
It is an amazing accomplishment, and with the highly anticipated Amazon series and new video game coming out, perhaps we might see more TLOTR LEGO sets.
