Julian Sands, Jor-El on 'Smallville', Has Been Reported Missing In The San Gabriel Mountains

British actor Julian Sands was reported missing by his wife on Friday, January 13 at 7:30 p.m. The actor had been hiking around Mt. Baldy in San Bernardino County, California. San Bernardino Sheriff's Department has announced that they are still looking for the English actor.

Search parties began to look for the 65-year-old actor but had to pull out Saturday evening after a 24-hour search because of avalanche risks and adverse conditions from the heavy storms that came through the area last weekend. On Thursday, police insisted they were still involved in a search and rescue operation. However, the ground search was delayed by wintry conditions. Local officials have also warned people to stay away from Mt. Baldy.

His friends, such as Stranger Things actor Matthew Modine and producer Frank Marshall, have tweeted in support of the actor.

Julian Sands is best known for his roles in A Room with a View (1985) and Warlock (1989). He has also played Jor-El on Smallville and Dr. Gerald Crane (father to Jonathan Crane) on Gotham. The actor loves mountaineering and has spent time in the Alps, the Andes, Alaska, and the American ranges.
