Joe Locke Joins 'Agatha: Coven of Chaos'
Variety reports that Joe Locke has been cast in the upcoming Disney+ miniseries, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Marvel has not yet disclosed the character that Locke is set to play and the actor has not mentioned details of his casting either. The actor has shared the announcement on his Instagram.
Locke is known for his role in the Netflix series Heartstopper where he portrays Charlie Spring, a gay teenager who falls in love with a popular classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor). The hit show based on Alice Oseman’s webcomic and graphic novel of the same name has already been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3. This past August, Locke starred in Dawn King’s The Trials and performed on stage at London’s Donmar Warehouse.
It is unclear what will be the plot of the upcoming WandaVision spinoff or who will be in it. The miniseries concluded with Wanda trapping Agatha in the town of Westview in her nosey neighbor persona. People magazine has noted that Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to be a dark comedy centering on the eponymous character. The series is looking to be a fun take on the fan-favorite villain.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is scheduled to release on Disney+ sometime around the fourth quarter of 2023.
