Jodie Turner-Smith Signs On For Role In 'Tron 3' Alongside Jared Leto
The Cast of the upcoming sci-fi action adventure film Tron: Ares is starting to expand. Ares, the third movie in the Tron franchise, has now added Jodie Turner-Smith, who starred in Slim & Jim and has joined Jared Leto, Greta Lee, and Evan Peters as prominent actors in the movie. Leto will be playing Ares, the manifestation of a program within the movie, while Lee will be playing a CEO and programmer. Turner-Smith’s role is currently unknown.
The Tron franchise started in 1982 with a movie simply titled Tron. The sequel, Tron Legacy, was made in 2010. As with the previous two entries, it will be a Disney movie. Ares will be the third movie in the franchise and is expected to be released in December 2025, although that date is currently subject to change. Joachim Ronning will be directing the film. Joachim’s other work includes Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Steven Lisberger, Bonnie MacBird, and Jesse Wigutow are currently listed as writers for the movie.
Some of Turner-Smith’s other work includes The Last Ship, Murder Mystery 2, and Nightflyers. Tron Ares is currently in pre-production and will begin shooting during August in Vancouver.
