Job Listing Hints At Potential New ‘Star Wars’ Animation Show In The Works
Fans of the animated Star Wars films and TV series will be excited to hear that ICON Creative Studio has put up a Linkedln posting in November of 2021 looking for animators for a new Lucasfilm production. But, unfortunately, that is all we know, thanks to the information provided by a Reddit thread. While little is known about this project, whether it is Star Wars related or not, it hasn't stopped fans from at least guessing what future animated film or series we could see in the not-so-distant future.
Many fans have already started speculating if this upcoming film or TV series will be based on Star Wars: Tale of the Jedi. Others suggested the series A Droid Story, especially considering ICON Creative Studio's past works consist of shows such as Elena of Avalor and Monsters at Work. Some even question if this might be for the rumored Darth Maul animated series that has been circulating around the internet for some time. However, several sources say the voice recording for the Darth Maul series has started with the recording of fan-favorite names such as Dee Bradley Baker (who voices all of the animated clones), Matt Lanter (who voices the animate Anakin Skywalker), and of course, Sam Witwer (voice actor for Darth Maul). So, it might not be entirely far-fetched to assume that this could be centered around Darth Maul, but nothing is for sure.

Star Wars may have mixed reviews for the prequel and sequel films, but most fans of all ages can agree that the animated Star Wars films and series are met with great success. When mentioning Star Wars and animation, most fans might think back to the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series that first premiered back in 2008 that ran for 7 seasons. The series was first canceled after the 6th season before finally getting the 7th and final season in 2020. The series has its own spinoff following The Bad Batch that premiered on Disney+ in 2021. But much like everything in the Star Wars franchise, fans like to debate what animated film or TV series is the best.
Some fans favor the animated Star Wars: Rebels that starts its story 14 years after the fall of the Jedi and with the Empire in full swing. A newer animated Star Wars release met with high reviews is the Star Wars: Visions, released in September of 2021 and holds an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. In fact, Star Wars has been releasing animated films and series ever since the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special that has a mere 2.2/10 on IMDb and a 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. Star Wars Resistance (2019) often gets overlooked partly because of the lack of promotion for the series.
Star Wars has one of the largest fan bases globally, and some of that can probably be attributed to the fact that they have so many animated films and series that fans of all ages can enjoy. From the Star Wars Vintage collection all the way to the newer series such as Star Wars: The Bad Batch, there is something out there for everyone when it comes to Star Wars animation. While many facets of the latest Star Wars animation project are uncertain, it is guaranteed that fans are eagerly awaiting the next wave of information and any clues into which part of the galaxy far, far away we will see. We can also be sure it will air on Disney+. For now, we will just have to wait to find out. So let us know if you are excited about this possible Star Wars animation film or series? And tell us what you think the story could be?
