Jared Leto's Joker In Snyder Cut Revealed
Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto's take on the character of The Joker was met with widespread disdain by audiences and critics alike. After the masterful performance by Heath Ledger, Leto had impossibly large shoes to fill, especially since Ledger won an Oscar for his portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime. It was a tough role to take, which is why lots of viewers felt let down by Leto's take. From the goofy voice that was supposed to be menacing but wasn't, to the numerous tattoos, to the stories of Leto's method acting while on set, he fell flat, and the movie suffered for it.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel with the upcoming Snyder cut of Justice League. The film was panned by critics and audiences, but Snyder has assured people that the new cut will be far closer to his vision, and almost unrecognizable when compared to the film we got. This includes The Joker. We only have a teaser image so far of what he will be in the new cut, but from what we can gather, it looks like there will be a departure of some sort from the ridiculous look we saw in previous Leto Joker appearances.
Will the changes be an improvement? Only time will tell, but odds are that Snyder saw the derision and adjusted accordingly. There might be some inspiration from Joaquin Phoenix's Oscar-winning portrayal of the character in 2019's Joker. For now, all we can do is speculate, but it can't be worse than what we got before.
Hopefully.
