Images Of The Fire Nation From Netflix's 'Avatar The Last Airbender' Released
Historically, live-action adaptations of animated series are not the best piece of media out there. Nevertheless, Netflix has stepped up the game with the looks of its live-action take on Avatar: The Last Airbender. The cast and everything involved in their appearance, (costumes, makeup, accessories) are without a doubt, stunning as we can appreciate in these released images of the Fire Nation characters:
Starting with Fire Lord Ozai, portrayed by Daniel Dae Kim. There is no need to say much, this version of the Fire Lord reflects perfectly what he is supposed to be: a menacing being. The flames that surround him, and the detail on his royal attire are magnificent.

Next up is the one and only Uncle Iroh, portrayed by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. This picture is the embodiment of “a picture is worth a thousand words”, he looks sweet, adorable, and even huggable. Radiating the comforting presence Iroh always was (and always will be). The new mustache and the rounder take on his hair facial hair is a good look for this new version of everyone’s favorite TV uncle.
On the other hand, we have Princess Azula, portrayed by Elizabeth Yu. Her attire is as detailed as her father’s, her hair remains the same with those characteristic side locks. The look on her face is unique to her calculating and determined personality; she looks sublime, to say the least.
Now, we have General Zhao, portrayed by Ken Leung. His military uniform looks incredible. They decided to maintain his characteristic sideburns while giving him longer hair. With soldiers behind him, he still looks like the dangerous general presented in the original series.
Last but not least is Prince Zuka, portrayed by Dallas Liu. We had a chance to see Zuko before with his helmet and armor on. Now, we get to see a different Zuko, that one with confusion and some fear in his eyes. The detail is amazing, not only in the background but in his face: both the scar and haircut are executed with such precision is like they yanked Zuko out of the animated series.
So far everything looks amazing for the live-action Avatar. Let’s hope it unfolds flawlessly, after all, this production has gigantic shoes to fill.
Avatar: The Last Airbender will be released on Netflix in 2024.
