How Close The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Is To Galaxy's Edge

The Disney era of Star Wars promised a lot of different things. One of them was a Star Wars themed section of the parks. In 2015, fans started looking forward to the completion of what was dubbed "Star Wars Land" in many circles. Eventually, it got its own official name, which was Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The one at Disneyland in Anaheim, California opened up on May 31, 2019, and the one at Disney World in Orlando, Florida opened on August 29, 2019. There were even a few books and comics released around this time that tied into Galaxy's Edge, feeding into the hype.

Rather than base the design of Galaxy's Edge around some super familiar location like Mos Eisley, it was its own new location, Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, set between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. People who have been to Galaxy's Edge have expressed enjoyment over the interactions with stormtroopers, the blue and green milk, and the Millennium Falcon ride, just to name a few things. But of course, Galaxy's Edge was not the end of the expansion of Star Wars stuff at the parks.

A hotel called Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been in construction for a while at Disney World in Orlando. This is meant to be an immersive experience across a stay consisting of three days and two nights. Whenever it opens, it will feel like people are on a Halcyon class starship in-universe. It will have some sort of story to it in which guests will be able to take part. With the construction almost complete, a Twitter user known as Bioreconstruct has shared aerial photos providing an idea of how close the hotel is to Galaxy's Edge. As it turns out, it is conveniently close, as shown in the Twitter photos below, with the captions of the first couple reading, "Aerial look at Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel) relative to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge."

While it looks very close to Galaxy's Edge, we are still not sure whether Galactic Starcruiser will connect to it through the parking lot. The third photo includes the following text:

"Aerial look at where transport ships will dock at Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel) for passage between the ship and planet."

At the moment, there is no official opening date for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. However, according to the Disney World website, reservations are expected to begin getting accepted sometime in 2021. Dates have been uncertain since the pandemic started affecting the parks, but it seems like Disney are confident enough to say that 2021 is when people can start making reservations. But of course, nothing is set in stone, and people will have to see how all of this plays out. Whenever people are able to attend, they will be able to play along with the story as it is presented within the hotel, as the franchise continues to expand.
