Hayley Kiyoko Launches ‘Panorama’ Album With Innovative Fan Experience
LOS ANGELES, CA — Artist Hayley Kiyoko, best known for her 2015 gold-certified single ‘Girls Like Girls’ and acting credits including Lemonade Mouth, Scooby-Doo!, and The Fosters, treated fans Thursday night to a unique album release event. Panorama: The Experience was a one-time special first look at Kiyoko’s sophomore album, on the eve of its global release 4-years following her debut album Expectations. The event was hosted by Lighthouse ArtSpace Los Angeles, an immersive art gallery currently running a stunning Vincent van Gogh exhibit. This music experience featured all of the best aspects of the venue’s exhibition capabilities.
When fans walked into this complimentary event, which had no charge to enter, they were greeted with a large album art mural on the wall on which they could write messages to the artist. After that they could sample 4 flavors of Cann Social Tonic, have their hair bedazzled by a team of glamoristas, and partake in a couple photo-ops.
From there, attendees walked though a room that displayed Panorama art projected 360-degrees on the walls around them, and into a spacious viewing gallery with benches and further art projected around. It was there that Hayley Kiyoko walked out and introduced the album, then listened to all 13 tracks along with everyone, as picturesque visualizer videos accompanied each song.
These videos each were composed of breathtaking drone footage of natural scenes, often featuring Kiyoko in the shots, and deftly matched the tone and mood of each track. As the songs played through, some fans sang and danced to the music, others sat quietly, soaking the experience in, while others held hands with their partners. Applause erupted after each track, as each video was edited smoothly into the next, creating a connected, fully immersive listening experience.
After the last track ended, Kiyoko stepped behind a microphone and chatted with fans for a while, letting them know what the album meant to her, and answering questions. Then she met each person one-by-one and signed a poster of the album cover art to give to them.
From the immersive art exhibition to the fan interaction, Hayley Kiyoko certainly launched ‘Panorama’ stateside with an incredible and innovative experience, that fans will not soon forget. Other artists are sure to take note.
Panorama is now available for purchase and streaming globally.
