Harrison Ford Gets Emotional Over 'Indiana Jones 5' During D23 Expo
During the Studio Showcase panel at D23, Harrison Ford took the stage to talk about the new Indiana Jones feature film, becoming emotional while doing so.
The fans loved to see Ford on the stage as he gave his talk, thanking those fans for “making these films such an incredible experience for all of us,” and that he is “very proud to say that this one is fantastic.”
Harrison Ford also looked delighted to reunite with fellow Indiana Jones star Ke Huy Quan after 38 years. Ke Huy Quan played Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
The latest Indiana Jones film was announced in March 2016, where it was confirmed that Ford would be reprising his role. After numerous delays, the film saw its first trailer at the Studio Showcase panel which confirmed the release date for next year. After almost fifteen years, Ford is clearly happy to be returning to the character of Indy, but this is set to be the end of an era.
This next Indiana Jones film will be the last time that Ford appears as the adventuring archaeology professor, he confirmed during the panel. John Williams will be scoring this film, but he is also set to retire from scoring soundtracks. Back in June in an interview with AP, the composer said, “if Harrison can do it [retire], then perhaps I can, also.”
