First Trailer For John Wick Prequel Series On Peacock, 'The Continental', Drops

During the peak time for franchises to expand, the John Wick universe, which currently features four films, is getting a miniseries. The series, named The Continental, will not feature Keanu Reeves in his role as the series’ titular character but still features a star-studded cast including Mel Gibson, Collin Woodell, Peter Greene, Ben Robson, Ayomide Adegun, Nhung Kate and Katie McGrath. The trailer can be seen below.

The Continental is set to be a prequel. It will be about the events that lead to the in-universe hotel chain it is named for coming to be a known house for hitmen, murderers, and assassins. Characters such as Winston Scott will have their past explored in the series, which is set in the mid-70s, and takes place in New York.

The show is planned to be three episodes long, with Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brandstom will both be directors, with Hughes directing the first and last episodes, are Brandstom directing the one in between. Hughes is also listed as an executive producer. Writers include Greg Coolidge, Derek Kolstad, Shawn Simmons, and Kirk Ward, with Lionsgate Television and Thunder Road Pictures producing the series. 

The show will be available on the streaming service Peacock starting in September.
