First Look At 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Game Coming To Major Consoles This Fall

After a short sneak peek of the upcoming live-action adaptation of the original animated series at Netflix’s Tudum, anticipation is high for fans of all things Avatar: The Last Airbender. While the series doesn’t debut until next year, there are some things to tide fans over, like the mobile game Avatar: Generations. This fall, it looks like there will be another game to satisfy fans. Developer Bamtang Games and publisher Game Mill Entertainment released a first-look trailer at the upcoming adventure game.

By the look of the trailer, puzzles will be a major part of the game, and puzzles that utilize your bending especially. Sort of. According to IGN, there will be nine playable characters, eight beyond the main character of Aang. This includes Sokka, Toph, and Katara, at the least. Furthermore, you can supposedly play any part of the adventure, of which there are 18 chapters, using these characters. If that’s the case, there must be different ways to solve the puzzles each time since Sokka was not a bender.

All that remains to be seen. There is a co-op element to the game as well, and from some of the shots, multiple characters are present at a time. Perhaps this works like a LEGO game, and you can swap between characters? Who knows. But what is promised, according to the developer, is plenty of side quests, puzzles, and interactions with iconic characters in iconic locales. Some of the characters shown include Prince Zuko, Princes Yue, the Cabbage Man, Sparky Sparky Boom Man, Suki, Appa, Momo, and of course, the beloved Uncle Iroh. Locations include the Northern Water Tribe, Fire Nation islands, Earth Kingdom villages, and more. It looks like a play-through of the original animated series, letting players play out their favorite events.

While no specific date was given, it was announced that pre-orders are live, and it will launch on all major consoles this fall.
