Pedro Pascal Teases Lots Of New Characters Will Appear In The Mandalorian Season 3
A lot has happened in Din Djarin’s story since his debut in November 2019. The Mandalorian has not disappointed the Star Wars fan base by any means. Each Star Wars Disney+ show has left fans wanting to see more, with a lot of anticipation of what is to come next. The second season finale of The Mandalorian left viewers with a big cliffhanger. The appearance of Luke Skywalker was “AWESOME.” Everyone got to see Luke display his lightsaber dueling skills by annihilating the Death Troopers, who were pretty much invincible until they met the Jedi Master. December 2020 was the last time anyone saw Din Djarin unless you rewatched the first two seasons over again for like the third or fourth time. The Book of Boba Fett has quenched our thirst for more Din Djarin and even Grogu. Yet more cliffhangers. Fans are now waiting in anticipation of what is next. It looks like there is a bit of a wait for The Mandalorian Season 3, but it will be here soon.
Recently in an interview with Pedro Pascal, The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin, the German magazine Neelix asked Pedro Pascal about what to expect in the upcoming third season. Pascal did not divulge too much but offered some insight into which characters, new and old, might appear. He was not very specific though, leaving Neelix and fans alike in a tizzy of anticipation:
“Definitely nothing (laughs). Okay, there will be some familiar faces and there will be a lot of new faces. In addition, there is a gain a lot of action and a really great story. Satisfied?”

The events of The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 and The Book of Boba Fett have presented many new questions and adventures for little Grogu and Din Djarin. The titular Mandalorian will now be focusing on his own issues and getting them squared away. In season one of The Book of Boba Fett, the Armorer banished Din Djarin from the Children of the Watch because he removed his helmet. Eager to seek recompense, Din Djarin now has a big task ahead of him. The only way he can redeem himself is by going to “the living waters beneath the mines of the Mandalore.” He now has another reason to head to Mandalore in addition to his possession of the Darksaber. This journey will entail crossing paths with some familiar faces and new ones.
Let’s break down who just might show up. Since Din Djarin is obviously heading to Mandalore, he will surely encounter Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). Remember Bo-Katan aims to retake the planet of Mandalore for all Mandalorians. This means that fans will be seeing other Mandalorians who have yet to appear in live-action. The door is wide open for many new faces to appear, the most prominent one being Sabine Wren from Star Wars: Rebels. Sabine can give Din Djarin some insight on the Darksaber. She has wielded it before when Kanan Jarrus trained her in its use. The Armorer’s insight into the nature of the Darksaber and Din Djarin’s current skill with it it also makes the appearance of Sabine more likely. Since Natasha Liu Borizzo has been cast as Sabine in Ahsoka, it will not be too far off to see her appear in The Mandalorian also.
Other familiar faces like Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) are set to appear in season three of The Mandalorian. From his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, the stage is set for Grogu to return as well. It also looks like Bo-Katan will return, possibly as an adversary. Remember, she is still looking to reclaim the Darksaber and the only she can do that is by dueling and defeating Din Djarin.
There is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. The Star Wars fan base will not be disappointed. Familiar faces and new faces will not only meet fans’ expectations but will also create great memorable stories for a long time. It looks like Season 3 of The Mandalorian will premiere in late 2022 on Disney+. In the meantime, there are a few Star Wars series set to debut such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, and Andor. The Bad Batch should be returning for its second season as well. Lucasfilm and Disney are not disappointing any Star Wars fans waiting in great anticipation.
