Original Boba Fett Actor's Star Wars Collection To Go To Auction

Jermey bullock and his Boba Fett suit

In December 2020 the world lost Jeremy Bulloch, the actor who first appeared in Empire Strikes Back as Boba Fett, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. What remained with us is an astonishing menagerie of Star Wars memorabilia collected by the actor, which is going up for sale by East Bristol Auctions on May 4th. So if you’re looking to celebrate “Star Wars Day” in a special way, or maybe looking for that special something to put your cosplay above all others, you can pick from one of the 1,000+ items going up for sale, many of which are reasonably priced and will benefit Parkinson’s UK, a charity founded in 1969 to “to improve life for everyone living with Parkinson's in the UK and to bring forward better treatments and a cure.”

Items available include everything from a helmet replica worn by Bulloch, which is expected to go for £600-800 ($783-$1,044) to a Boba Fett keychain that you may be able to snag for just £15 ($19.58). You can also browse through LEGO kits, action figures, awards, custom license plates, Revenge of the Sith movie tickets, a photo signed by Carrie Fisher with the inscribed message “thanks for the nite of hot monkey love”, and even Return of the Jedi test footage of Fett paling around with Ewoks.

Maureen Bulloch, Jeremy’s wife of 50 years, recently told Guardian that her husband was a proud collector who treasured “every single item” that is up for grabs. For the Star Wars fan with cash to spare, this is a chance to carry off a piece of Bulloch with you in his honored memory.

Though Bulloch was the first to portray the menacing foil to Han Solo in the original trilogy, he was [pushes glasses up] technically not the first actor to portray the character. That distinction goes to Duwayne Dunham who, as we also learned from Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett short on Disney+, was an Assistant Film Editor on Empire Strikes Back and the first to don an albino version of the suit for some Skywalker Ranch test footage. You also can’t forget Don Francks who voiced the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, part of the animated “Story of the Faithful Wookiee” segment, also now available on Disney+.

Princess Leia and Imperial officer

However, Bulloch does hold a special distinction of having played three different characters in the Star Wars universe, having additionally played Imperial Officer Sheckil in Empire Strikes Back, who you can see pulling Leia away on Cloud City as she tries to warn Luke that he’s heading into a trap (see the image signed by Carrie Fisher). He also appeared in Revenge of the Sith as Captain Jeremoch Colton, pilot of the Tantive III who brings Obi-Wan and Yoda back to Coruscant following Order 66.

Since Bulloch, there have been many performers to play the character in various video games, radio adaptations, and other media. Of course, Daniel Logan and Temuera Morrison hold a special place in the hearts of prequel trilogy fans and Disney series enthusiasts alike. They too have amassed their own collections as well. Daniel Logan, who appeared as a young Fett in Attack of the Clones as well as voiced the character in The Clone Wars, is also selling signed photos, FUNKO pops, and various random items in the form of “Bounty Boxes”, which are filled with toys that “span the entire Star Wars Saga.”

As we’ve noticed on social media, Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett in the prequel trilogy and took on the Boba mantle in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, has recently received gifts such as a custom, wood carved Māori-Style Boba Fett Helmet from New Zealand artist Graham Hoete, and was most recently was gifted a custom Gaffi Stick by Sons of Obiwan Saber Academy at Supanova Comic-Con in Australia just a few weeks ago.

We pray to the heavens that these are treasured in his presence, as Bulloch did, for a long time to come.
