The highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order finally has a release date of March 17th, 2023. Fans first got a glimpse of the game during Star Wars Celebration. A book continuing the story of Cal after the events of the first game was also announced recently and will drop a week before the release of the sequel. Today, fans were finally given a gameplay look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor during the 2022 Game Awards

“As long as we fight, hope survives.”

The trailer begins with the man in the bacta tank we saw in the first teaser. He tells Cal how the Order is dead, and he was betrayed. However, he “won’t be imprisoned again.” It is unknown who this character and how he got there, but he is angry. He also appears to be an essential part of Cal’s story. The trailer then goes into a montage of Cal fighting various stormtroopers, duel-wielding lightsabers, and flying. He meets up again with a fresh-looking Cere, who tells Cal that he has become the “Empire’s most wanted.”

Cal fights a lot of different enemies, using both his lightsaber and even a blaster. At the end of the trailer, Cal ignites his lightsaber, which has a new twist to it: two little blades coming out of the crossguard, similar to Kylo Ren’s.

The game features a much older Cal, going up against unknown foes while also making new friends and allies. The gameplay looks similar to the first game, especially regarding combat. The world itself looks absolutely massive as the game takes us to different planets in the galaxy.

There is a lot of Jedi action, but also a dark tone to the game as the Empire strengthens its hold on the galaxy. Cal is going to need all the help he can get as he runs from the Empire.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on March 17th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC .
