Disney Drops 'Ahsoka' Release Date Trailer With New Footage
Get ready to look forward to Wednesdays again. Ahsoka just got an official premiere date of August 23! Along with this release date came a new and exciting trailer for the series. While some of the footage has been seen before, the arrangement this time around makes the audience reevaluate the clips. It gives a preview of the show’s synopsis and featured characters, aptly titled “Begin.”
The trailer, while brief, was full of little details and sneak peeks. Star Wars Rebels fans may have noticed Sabine wielding a familiar lightsaber against Shin Hati. Ezra’s weapon appears to be making a comeback as Sabine wields it once again. He left it in the hands of the Ghost crew before going M.I.A. with Thrawn and the Purrgil, so his close friend wielding it makes sense.

A fair few living members of the Ghost crew made an appearance during the teaser as well. Zeb, the team’s Lasat friend, and avid stormtrooper-smashing enthusiast, was absent. However, his cameo in The Mandalorian means he could still appear at a later point.
Clone Wars fans may get particularly excited with the return of an iconic lightsaber architect Professor Huyang. While his only line is one we’ve heard before, “Perhaps it is time to begin again,” hearing David Tennant’s portrayal once again is exciting on its own.
The episodes of Ahsoka will be released every week rather than dropping all at once. The series will follow the titular character as she investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy, which involves Thrawn returning. Ahsoka will be available exclusively on Disney+.
