Disney Dropping 'Loki' Earlier Than Expected And Changing Episode Release Days
Big news, fellow Marvel fans! The wait for Marvel's next big TV series Loki has been cut shorter as it will release a little sooner than expected.
Loki is set to follow the adventures of the titular character (played by Tom Hiddleston) following his escape using the Tesseract during the botched "Time Heist" sequence in Avengers: Endgame. In the main timeline Loki unfortunately met his end at the hands of Thanos at the beginning of Endgame. So this will be an alternate version and fans have not stopped speculating what mischief he's going to get up to in his own show.
Originally set for a June 11 release, Hiddleston himself appeared in a new announcement video to give us the new information. During the video, he brings up the fact Loki tends to get left out of the montage videos Marvel releases, including the new one from earlier last week, even though he's "incredibly heroic and cunning," before adding, "Why don't I just prove it to you? Wednesdays are the new Fridays." Following this, we get a message confirming the new release date will be June 9.
Check out the short video below:
Loki was originally supposed to drop new episodes each Friday. However, in one of the articles on The Bad Batch, we mentioned the potential issue with both that and Loki releasing new episodes on a Friday. Now it looks like we don't have that problem. Fridays worked well for The Falcon ad the Winter Soldier, but they are starting to become a bit crowded, so it makes sense for Disney to try and break the week up a little and use a different day. It also helps ensure the streaming giant puts up a good fight for viewing throughout the whole week instead of just one day.
So now Loki will premiere on Wednesday, June 9th. If you still haven't subscribed to Disney+ yet, what are you waiting for?
Until next time!
