DC's 'Stargirl' Ending After Season 3 At The CW, Creator Promises Closure
The CW announced on Monday that the third season of DC’s Stargirl will be the last. The network announced that the thirteen-episode season will be the conclusion of the series. In a statement executive producer, Geoff Johns expressed the importance that Stargirl has had for him. He said “With all the brewing changes at the network, we were aware this was possibly the last season, so we wrote with that in mind and have delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet, with complete creative closure.
The decision to cancel Stargirl after season three might not be a surprise to many. After eight episodes of season three viewership is estimated to be down 25 to 50 per cent from season 2 of the show. The news comes after the CW also announced the end of shows like Nancy Drew, The Flash, and Riverdale. CW has gone through several changes as new ownerships hope to target an older audience.
The remaining episodes of the show will air on Wednesdays at 8/7 central on the CW. The show premiered in 2020 and has a 7.2 rating on IMDB with 18,000 ratings.
