Darth Vader's Inquisitors Could Appear In Kenobi Series
The Star Wars universe is expanding. During Disney’s Investor Day last December, Lucasfilm revealed many upcoming film and series titles that will expand our beloved franchised, much to the joy of many fans. One of the most anticipated Star Wars series is, without a doubt, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which was first announced at D23 in 2019 but eventually got its title revealed on Disney Investor Day. will be a one-season series coming exclusively to Disney+ in 2022. The series will take place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and will feature the return of Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the most awaited return of Hayden Christensen, who will be reprising his role as Darth Vader.
The series is shrouded in secrecy. We only know that this series will feature one last battle between Vader and Kenobi. Lately, a rumor has been going around that actress Moses Ingram will be playing an Imperial Inquisitor in the upcoming series. In canon, Inquisitors were introduced in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Imperial Inquisitors work under Lord Vader, and their sole purpose is to hunt down surviving Force-sensitive beings. We’ve seen how powerful they are in Rebels, as well in the video game Jedi: Fallen Order. We me might see the very first live-action Imperial Inquisitor in the upcoming Kenobi series.
An Imperial Inquisitor could serve as a secondary antagonist, which could lead to the confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader, as all Inquisitors report to Vader himself. This could be a great way to introduce an Inquisitor into the series, as well as a scale up the conflict that would lead to the final battle between Vader and Kenobi.
Kessel Run Transmissions host Corey Van Dyke has recently shared the rumor, saying that many sources of his have indicated that Moses Ingram might be playing an Imperial Inquisitor in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Neither the actress nor Lucasfilm have confirmed this rumor, but Ingram could play an amazing Imperial Inquisitor.
In Jedi: Fallen Order, the Inquisitor known as The Second Sister is an amazing antagonist for the game. The character also has an amazing backstory. If Ingram does give us the very first live-action Imperial Inquisitor, it would be interesting to see whether she may play a brand new Inquisitor, or an already existing female Imperial Inquisitor from a previous story. It would be interesting to see a previously established Inquisitor have their story connect between this series and an already released story. If a new Imperial Inquisitor is introduced, it would equally be interesting to see what role she plays in the fight, or to see her go against the master of the high ground himself, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
In any case, she could fight alongside Vader in the most awaited rematch in Star Wars history. Fans could see how the fight connects to their duel aboard the Death Star in Episode IV - A New Hope. The Kenobi series’ plot is still a complete mystery, but fans also speculate that the series itself will feature a very traumatized Obi-Wan Kenobi who’s mentally scarred after dismembering his best friend in their duel on the planet Mustafar.
Even if all these rumors are not true at all, we can be sure that the upcoming Kenobi series will add some darkness to the prequel era, and will feature new and exciting Star Wars adventures for us to cherish for many years. As mentioned above, the series is expected to be released on Disney+ in 2022.
