Bryce Dallas Howard Talks 'Skeleton Crew' Episode 6 And Jude Law's Impact
Director Bryce Dallas Howard recently sat down with Maggie Lovitt of Collider to discuss Episode 6 of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and revealed a lot of interesting information.
WARNING: This article contains light spoilers about Episode 6 of Skeleton Crew.
Some of the points were expansions of prior talking points made by Howard in the lead-up to Skeleton Crew’s premiere, such as more details about her being aware of the show in production while working on other Star Wars shows, but there were new perspectives offered on a range of topics, including how those past productions impacted her episode in particular. Howard mentions that when The Book of Boba Fett tackled the Purge of Mandalore, Phil Tippett and his company got involved in how to approach the content. Tippett would later return to create Tet’niss, the giant mother trash crab from Episode 6 of Skeleton Crew explicitly because the Star Wars team enjoyed working with him.
Another new piece of information Howard offered involved a more subtle situation, and a suggestion by Jude Law to change an element of the episode. She revealed that the lines regarding the fate of Tak Rennod were initially planned as a short section of poetry. However, Law suggested that he sing the lines in the form of shanty, a change enthusiastically embraced by those working on the episode.

This is not the first time Jude Law was revealed to be involved in discussions about adjustments to better suit his character and the world of Star Wars. Prior interviews with other publications have underlined his dedication and desire to portray Jod the best he could, getting into discussions with the creatives and suggesting small changes to add greater depth to his character. Jod’s brief musical interlude is just another small detail that adds plenty more to the scene, and the pirate themes of this show.
We encourage those interested to check out the full interview, but also encourage any on-the-fence Star Wars fans or members of the general audience to give Skeleton Crew a watch! The series’ finale episode premieres next Tuesday, January 14th, on Disney+.
