Bruce Campbell Lands Recurring Role In Upcoming Peacock Satanic Panic Series, ‘Hysteria!’
Variety reports Bruce Campbell is joining the cast of the upcoming series Hysteria! on Peacock. Before Campbell joined, the show’s listed cast members were Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, Nikki Hahn, and Julie Bowen. Peacock announced the show in the fall of 2022.
The series’ official description details: “When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the ‘Satanic Panic’ of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported ‘supernatural activity’ triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.”

Campbell will take on the role of Chief Dandridge, "a small-town police chief whose understanding of his community is put to the test after a disturbing series of murders, disappearances, and unexplained phenomena.”
Campbell became a major star after the release of the now cult classic films Evil Dead with its sequel, Evil Dead Rise, coming to theatres on April 21. He is also well-known for roles in films such as Bubba Ho-Tep and My Name is Bruce, Burn Notice, and The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Also, Campbell was cast in a small role in the Marvel Studio’s film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Hysteria! will be written by Matthew Scott Kane and David Goodman, who will also serve the project as executive producers.
