Bo-Katan Actress Wants To See This Certain Mandalorian Make A Live-Action Cameo
On the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian, viewers were treated to appearances by characters from other Star Wars media, including the realm of animation. With characters like Bo-Katan Kryze and Ahsoka Tano making the transition from The Clone Wars to the live-action front, or even Cobb Vanth jumping from the pages of the Aftermath novels to the screen, the franchise has proven that almost no character is off limits. We even got to see Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker in the season 2 finale (results of which have gotten admittedly mixed reception). Fans who have read or watched other Star Wars media feel rewarded, while newcomers who get interested in faces who are newer to them become curious and want to dig through the Star Wars catalog to learn more.
Many people have their own desires and guesses regarding possible future cameo appearances. Some even want to see characters who originated from Star Wars Rebels make the jump to live-action. And Katie Sackhoff, who voiced Bo-Katan in The Clone Wars and Rebels before portraying the character in live-action, recently shared her own thoughts on whom she would like to see, and it happens to be a Mandalorian character who has appeared in animation. During Topps WinterCon, Sakhoff had the following response:
“I think I would love to see some stuff with Pre Vizsla.”
Fans of The Clone Wars will remember Pre Vizsla leading the Mandalorian terrorist organization Death Watch in The Clone Wars. He was the first character whom we saw wielding the Darksaber, which has passed through multiple hands since. Eventually, he allies himself with Darth Maul and his brother Savage Oppress as they create the Shadow Collective. However, Vizsla turns against Maul, and then Maul defeats Vizsla in a fight, which results in Vizsla getting beheaded by the Darksaber.. Needless to say, it would be difficult to have the character appear in the timeframe of The Mandalorian, but the series has shown that it is willing to present flashbacks, such as when we see a young Din Djarin rescued by Death Watch during an attack by a super battle droid.
Sackhoff continued:
“That was such a fun storyline for Bo and it was such a fun glimpse into ... for fans who haven't seen [Star Wars: The Clone Wars] and [Star Wars Rebels], Bo-Katan didn't start out necessarily on the right side of things. She thought she was, so I would recommend people go back and watch Clone Wars because I think you can understand what I'm talking about, and that is that time with Vizsla, which I think is important to who she is as a person and the growth that she's gone through. I would love to see that.”
While Sackhoff bears a resemblance to the animated character she has portrayed, Jon Favreau does not look that much like Pre Vizsla. So if the character ever appears in live-action form, probably via a flashback that Bo-Katan might have, he would need to be recast, as ended up being the case with Rosario Dawson taking over Ashley Eckstein's duties as Ahsoka Tano. Or perhaps he could just have his helmet on the whole time and be voiced by Favreau, as was the case with Pre's relative(?) Paz Vizsla in season 1. Pre Vizsla could certainly be written into the story in a way that works. Season 3 seems like it may continue to feature Bo-Katan in the story, so it would make sense to explore a bit more of her history and the people with whom she worked.
