Bo-Katan Actress Address Her "Unfinished Business" In 'The Mandalorian' Season 3

The most recent season of The Mandalorian ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, with several questions still left in the air. The chief question among these questions is what is going to happen between Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze. In the final episode of Season 2, Mando finds himself in possession of the Darksaber, which he took from Moff Gideon, and was the sole reward Bo-Katan needed from their conflict with Gideon. However, Mandalorian tradition dictates that the Darksaber must be won in combat, so Mando can’t simply give her the saber, which he tries to do. The episode ends on a much larger reveal, but the tension between Mando and Bo-Katan is never resolved. Bo-Katan herself, Katee Sackhoff, does have some feelings regarding their “unfinished business.”

While it has not been confirmed, it is widely believed that Season 3 of The Mandalorian will expand upon this potential area of conflict. Bo-Katan and Din Djarin are both hard set in their Mandalorian ways, which has already been the cause for some discourse between the two of them. This new divide could not only pit the two against each other but also pit all Mandalorians against each other. In a recent interview with /Film, Katee Sackhoff gave her opinion on the cliffhanger ending, saying “The way that Lucasfilm left me in season 2, one of the roads that could go down — absolutely, you’d think — would be the unfinished business.” However, it seems that a lot of the specific details have been hidden from even her, with Sackhoff elaborating and stating; “But that is so far above my pay grade, and you just don’t know, right? As a fan of the show, I’m just excited to see what they come up with.”

One of the things that made Season 2 of The Mandalorian so great is that it brought characters into live-action that had previously only existed in animation, like Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano. This was the first time fans had seen Bo-Katan since Season 7 of The Clone Wars animated series, and it looks like fans might get to learn more about her in The Mandalorian. Katee Sackhoff spoke about this saying, “Dave and I talk a lot about Bo and her backstory and time lost and things like that, just because we enjoy talking about Star Wars and the characters. I definitely know a lot about who she is and where she’s been and what’s happened. So, yeah, I knew that kind of stuff for sure.” Even if this information doesn’t become plot points for Season 3, it is nice to know that she has a deeper understanding of her character.

Rumors about Season 3 have been circulating practically since Season 2 ended, and some even suggest Season 3 will begin filming as early as the first week of October. There is a lot of mystery surrounding The Mandalorian Season 3 and The Book Of Boba Fett. It is unknown if the two shows will connect to each other or if characters from The Mandalorian will appear in The Book of Boba Fett. Boba and Din were working together at the end of Season 2, so it stands to reason that they could encounter each other again in either show. That could also be applied to the Ahsoka show, but it's release date is farther in the future. The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere this December, so some of these questions could be answered then. Regardless of the rumors, filming is expected to start soon on The Mandalorian Season 3, with no official release date set. However, it is possible that the season could release as early as next year, so fans may not have to wait too long to see Din and Bo’s “unfinished business.”
