When Five Nights At Freddy's hit the Steam front page, it wasn't long before it was slingshot into the limelight of infamy, scaring the player with an uncomfortably confined atmosphere and animatronics that stalk you. Naturally, as with any popular entry, sequels are sure to follow close behind to continue the story.

When Blumhouse Studios revealed that they were working on a film based on the popular horror franchise, fans were quick to show their excitement through theories about how the movie would adapt the story of multiple games into a nearly two-hour-long film. Naturally, when Five Nights At Freddy's was released in 2023, it quickly made bank at the box office, far surpassing its budget of $20 million by raking in over $295 million (as of writing)!

The beauty of Blumhouse films is that, despite a small budget, they still use passion and creativity to harness an experience that is sure to impress fans. Much like the games following the first FNAF game, a sequel to the film is already in pre-production at Blumhouse Studios. This stems from a recent entry in Production Weekly, which tracks projects in all stages of development.

This probably doesn't come as a huge surprise to many, least of all the creator of the franchise and co-writer of the Five Nights At Freddy's film, Scott Cawthorn, who has previously stated that there would be a sequel if the movie did well. Despite the huge success of the FNAF movie, however, executive producer Ryan Turek has confirmed in an interview with Collider that a sequel has not been given the green light as of right now.

While no further details about pre-production for the sequel are known at the time, it's safe to assume that the moment something does happen, fans are bound to crawl all over it like little bugs, excitedly sharing their theories once more. Will the toy animatronics make an appearance? Will the sequel continue the story from the first entry? Only time will tell.
