Bethesda Releases A New Video Commemorating ‘Fallouts’ 25th Anniversary
As some of you know, we just recently passed the 25th anniversary of the first Fallout game. Due to this, Bethesda has released a series of short retrospective videos on its YouTube page. It has shown clips from interviews with many of the writers, producers, and designers from the many Fallout games that have come out, from the original Fallout to Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 76.
Because the fanbase is so large and the universe of Fallout left unexplored in many ways, Bethesda has partnered with Amazon and Kilter Films to create the video game’s first TV series. This is not brand-new news. Filming has been going on for some time, and we have even seen some set photos. As a Fallout fan, I am stoked for this series and can’t wait for it to come out. Jonathon Nolan has taken the role of the series director and is seen in the retrospective video that Bethesda called “Beyond the Game.”

In this clip of Nolan, he is asked to tell the people a little about Fallout. After acting as if he didn’t know what she was talking about, he suddenly seems to know what she is talking about and describes Fallout through his eyes and how he got to know Fallout himself. He described Fallout as a “humorous, dark, bleak, brilliantly written, annoyingly playable video game franchise.” While this gives a clue into his view of Fallout and possibly the type of story he plans with the TV series, there is more going on in this clip.
While he talks to the camera, a large hand of power armor hands him an opened Nuka-Cola, and he begins to drink it. In the background is what looks like the post-apocalyptic landscape of barren dirt and broken-down buildings. A little more of a taste of what will likely be in the new series. To end the interview, he explains how he fell in love with Fallout. Nolan says, “Well, several years ago, I decided I was going to write the next great American novel. And then, a friend of mine gave me a copy of Fallout 3. And now I’m working in television.”
The interviews and videos that Bethesda is releasing and this great shot of a power armor hand and landscape Should get fans super excited for what will be brought to us concerning the Fallout universe! That must have been their plan all along!
