Banjo-Playing Kermit Joins 'Disney Speedstorm'

The free-to-play racing game Disney Speedstorm is adding a classic character of Muppets fame. A recent teaser revealed the arrival of Kermit the Frog and his Banjo Connection ability. According to Gameloft, in normal use of the ability, “Kermit plays an energizing melody on his banjo for a short time that generates boost fuel. If an opponent gets close to him, they gain a small speed boost and Kermit gains a big speed boost.”
When the ability is first charged, “Kermit plays a calming melody on his banjo for a short time that makes him invulnerable. If an opponent gets close to him, their top speed is reduced and Kermit generates boost fuel.” The game is currently in its seventh season focusing on characters from Wreck-It Ralph. Season 8 will bring in characters from Inside Out followed by Pirates of the Caribbean. When the game initially launched, Captain Jack Sparrow, Mickey Mouse, Sulley, and the Beast were in its racing roster.

The game uses tracks inspired by the various movies the characters come from. Currently, the game is available on the Nintendo Switch, current and previous generation Xbox and PlayStation platforms as well as Android and iOS phones, and Microsoft Windows. New characters can either be purchased or unlocked through regular gameplay. Check out the Kermit teaser below.
