When a game gets a new release date, it tends to be because of a delay, and it's rare to see a game get pushed up. Ubisoft has announced that their next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise has gone gold, which just means that the launch version of the game is finished. The game is also getting a new release date. Assassin's Creed Mirage will now release a week early on October 5th.

The newest installment in the franchise will follow Basim, who fans were first introduced to in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The story will take place in 9th-century Baghdad and will be set decades before Valhalla. Basim will go from being a street thief to learning how to fight for a greater cause, which will eventually have him become a Hidden One. Fans will get to learn more about this mysterious character that we only learned a little about during the events of Valhalla

The game will go back to the franchises roots, in terms of gameplay and length. Combat will be used as a last resort, and the map will be more the size of Paris from Assassin's Creed Unity than the massive worlds of both Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla.
