Arleen Sorkin, The Original Voice Of Harley Quinn, Passed Away At 67
Recent news has painted the skies red, black, and white for Arleen Sorkin, the original voice of Harley Quinn. She passed away on Thursday, the 24th of August from multiple sclerosis; health issues related to her condition kept her from acting in recent years.
Her acting career started back in 1983 when she made an appearance in the movie Trading Places and, while that job went uncredited, her following work is truly astonishing. In 1984 she took on the role of Calliope Jones for NBC’s soap opera Days of Our Lives, a character she played throughout 1990, in 1992, 2006, and 2010; all adds up to 427 episodes!

Later, in 1992 Arleen gave voice, on her first-ever television appearance, to the one and only Harley Quinn. She gave her voice to the princess clown on repeated occasions; in film: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker; on TV: Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1994), The New Batman Adventures (1997-1999), Superman: The Animated Series (1997), Gotham Girls (2000-2002), Static Shock (2003), Justice League (2003); and in videogames, The Adventures of Batman and Robin (1994), Batman Vengeance (2001), Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), and DC Universe Online (2011).
Her hard work and dedication helped and shaped the character we know and love into what it is today and those who worked with her know it. Mark Hamill, who voiced Joker alongside her, expressed his condolences on social media saying “I'm grateful not only to have worked with her, but to have been her friend".
Arleen left behind her husband, producer and writer Christopher Lloyd, and their two sons, Eli and Owen. Our deepest condolences are with them.
Her legacy will carry on in our hearts.
