‘Andor’ And ‘Return Of The Jedi’ 40th Anniversary Highlight ‘Star Wars’ Toys Revealed At Hasbro PulseCon
Like Power Rangers and Marvel, Star Wars had its turn at Hasbro PulseCon Saturday, Day 2 of the festivities. Time to check out what they had to show off.
It began with the PulseCon exclusive Black Series two-pack of Cassian Andor and B2EMO, which are entirely brand new figures, presumably meaning they have unique molds and such, and Andor’s specifically differing from figures he got surrounding Rogue One, still learning from the production of them. They tout his butterfly joints for flexible posing. It’ll be out by the end of the year. Next comes from the Vintage Collection, the Vintage Mandalorian Rescue Set, depicting the raid of Moff Gideon’s Star Cruiser. Din has new weapons, his flamethrower and bird whistler. Not only is Moff Gideon there, but so is a Dark Trooper and a little Grogu figure. It’ll be available in Spring 2023.

The announced Selfie Series, where you can have your likeness on a figure, will also involve Star Wars figures, with Rebels, Mandalorians, and Stormtroopers. The hosts show love and appreciation for the support surrounding the Vintage Boba Fett Throne Room and give a preorder closing date of October 7. They then get into the Vintage Collection Cassian Andor, which uses his outfit from the early episodes of his series, followed by Vel Sartha, also from the series. During the talent panel, Dee Bradley Baker helped reveal the Vintage Collection Hunter, the first of the Bad Batch to explicitly get a figure. He’s got his own head, a helmet that fits over, and a tiny knife and blaster. They then went over the main Black Series Cassian Andor release, the Cassian figure sans B2EMO, followed by Bix Caleen with a flexible skirt, and Luthen Rael, with a trenchcoat that is even more flexible, plus his own accessories. They’ve even got an Andor-based Mon Mothma figure! They remark how there “finally” is one, so it seems there hadn’t been one before.
Axe Woves is next to be shown off, but the next major segment is showing off a line for the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. First up, the Scout Trooper, which they lament for once, is offered without Speeders. Then, Lando Calrissian in whatever this outfit is called. Armor, helmet, bony mouthpiece, vibro ax, that one. There’s Han in his trenchcoat, Leia in her “battle poncho,” and Wicket! He’s got a spear and club as accessories, even a bow, and arrow.
In more Vintage Collection reveals, you can even build your own composition of Figrin Dan and the Modal Nodes, the cantina band! A Jedi-specific quintessential Vader is in the pipeline, as is Veequay and a couple of background aliens. The 2023 playset is the Endor bunker. There’s a Jedi-specific Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and Emperor Royal Guard in the Black Series pipeline. Tusken Warriors, Pipe Troopers, Cad Bane, and Tusken Raiders from The Book of Boba Fett are also coming.
This was a lot, and the chat didn’t seem very pleased most of the time, but who really knows if they ever are.
