An Explosive First Trailer For Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' Has Been Released
The first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, Oppenheimer, has dropped. It debuted before Avatar: The Way of Water. Oppenheimer tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, director of the Los Alamos Laboratory. He was also part of the Manhattan Project which worked during World War II to develop the first atomic weapons. The movie is based on a book entitled American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. They won a Pulitzer Prize for their work. The trailer shows the conflict that Oppenheimer felt about creating the bomb. He knew how dangerous it was, but he also knew that America needed to get it first.
Aside from directing, Nolan wrote the script and produced the film with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven. Cillian Murphy is in the lead role. He is backed by a slew of famous names including Emily Blunt, Kenneth Branagh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Gary Oldman, and Florence Pugh. The film was shot in IMAX and is being distributed by Universal Studios. It is the first film directed by Nolan that will not be distributed by Warner Bros. since Memento was released in 2000. The movie’s release date is set for July 20, 2023.
