A New Promo Gives Fans A Brief Look At 'Star Wars: Andor'
Leaked footage of a new promotional video gives Star Wars fans another glimpse of the new Andor series, which arrives on Disney+ on August 31 of this year. At first glance, the footage seems to match the grim, overcast visual style of Rogue One, conveying the intensity and desperation of a budding rebellion against the overpowered Imperial threat.
Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) and Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma) can be seen continuing their roles from Rogue One, joined by well-known faces new to the Star Wars universe. Marvel fans will recognize Stellan Skarsgård (from the Thor franchise) playing a character named Luthen Rael. Game of Thrones viewers will recognize Anton Lesser (former-Maester Qyburn in the HBO series), who appears to be portraying a high-level Imperial officer in Andor.

While most of the footage in the leaked promo is recognizable from the teaser trailer released by Disney a month ago, there are a few notable new glimpses of Cassian Andor in unfamiliar surroundings and contexts. The video was originally posted to the Andor social media account, along with a new promotional photo, but both were quickly removed.
The series takes place five years prior to the events of Rogue One, focusing on the titular character Cassian Andor and his involvement in the conception and growth of the Rebel Alliance. Several other characters known from Rogue One have been confirmed to appear, such as militant guerilla fighter Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and witty strategic droid K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk).
