When it comes to gaming, seeing that dreaded notification pop up that your controller’s battery is low adds to the anxiety that you may be experiencing trying to finish a level, beat a boss, or if you have just started a match online. It may be especially higher in PS5 users, as the DualSense controller is notorious for a short battery life.

That may be changing soon.  According to The Verge, a listing was found on Best Buy’s Canadian website for a PS5 DualSense controller, but it has a “V2” in the listing. The description also boasts about a long-lasting battery life of 12 hours, and may even come with a charging dock in the box. An update to the article states that there was a similar listing found on EE’s site, a UK-based store, but the listing was edited and the “V2” is no longer in the heading.

The price casts some doubt on it since it’s listed at the same price as the current DualSense, and if it supposedly comes with a charging dock, it seems doubtful that it would remain the same price as the first-generation controller. There has been no official confirmation from Sony on whether this is really happening, but with a PS5 Pro on the horizon and the newly released slim models, it stands to reason that Sony isn’t done improving the PS5.
