A New 'Carmen Sandiego' Game Is Coming, With The Iconic Thief Playable For The First Time

Netflix has been reintroducing the world to Carmen Sandiego with the 2019 animated series, along with new books in the franchise. Now, the franchise returns to video game form just in time for its 40th anniversary. And this time, players will step into the shoes of the infamous globetrotter.
HarperCollins Productions joins with Gameloft, developers of Disney Dreamlight Valley, Disney Speedstorm, and The Oregon Trail, for this next interactive outing of Carmen Sandiego. Players will engage in a world of espionage, utilising high-tech gadgets, to capture the agents of VILE. Who, in the original 1985 game, were led by Carmen Sandiego. This adventure will take players across the world, experiencing the cultures of the globe within iconic cities. Which has always been an overarching theme of the franchise.

Carmen Sandiego is releasing exclusively to Netflix Games first on January 28, followed by releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam on March 4. A Deluxe Edition of the game will provide some digital extras for players, including new outfits. For physical collectors, a 40th Anniversary Edition will be released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 in late April, providing a few physical extras on top of those of the Deluxe Edition.
