There are some good examples of perfect casting but none of them work as well as Iman Vellani in the role of Kamala Khan. Just like her character, Vellani became the unofficial fountain of knowledge about everything Marvel related for the crew of The Marvels. Iman Vellani (Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel) joins Brie Larson (Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel) and Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau) on a new adventure.

The Marvels revolves around the relationships between these characters and the power they share. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the lead actresses let us appreciate the dynamic among them, one that beautifully showed off on and off the screen. "It was a very sisterly bond on set," said director Nia DaCosta. "It was really fun to see how their relationship mirrors their relationship in the movie."

Just like loving sisters, Larson and Parris turn to their young co-star for help whenever they feel stuck with an answer, even if it is regarding something apart from the comic book lore Vellani is an expert on. For instance, they did not seem to recall the first time they met nor if it was a Zoom call or on set; that is until Iman steps in and tells them they met in 2021 to see Black Widow together. Yes, the other two agree. "I just say things with enough conviction, and they believe me,” Vellani states.

As Marvel’s first movie with a female lead, Captain Marvel opened the road for a whole new set of opportunities. With the sequel being released on November 10 and bringing more heroes to the screen, The Marvels promise a compelling story, both on and off-screen.
