A Live-Action 'Death Stranding' Movie Is In The Works At A24
Death Stranding’s success since its release in 2019 left an undeniable mark in the world of gaming, and now a live-action movie is in the works. Hideo Kojima, the Japanese developer behind the popular game is excited to work alongside A24 for this new project.
As Hideo Kojima stated: “I have been attracted to their creations and they have even inspired my own work. Their innovative approach to storytelling aligns with what Kojima Productions has been doing for the last 8 years. Now, we are making a Death Stranding movie together.” His words reflect the passion and compromise both Kojima Productions and A24 have for this movie. The effort put into this kind of project is massive, as the people involved need to translate a story designed for a certain medium into the big screen. Kojima continues in his statement: “There are a lot of ‘game adaptation films’ out there but what we are creating is not just a direct translation of the game.”
