Where Could The 'Tales Of...' Series Go Next?
When Tales of the Jedi was released on Disney+ in 2022, many of us expected to get multiple seasons of the show with different stories about the Jedi. I know that I wasn’t the only one surprised when we learned that season two of Tales of the Jedi would actually be part two of an anthology and would be Tales of the Empire. This was a genius move by Disney and Dave Filoni because it opened up the entire galaxy of Star Wars for different parts of the anthology. There are so many different directions that this could go, but let’s take a look at five of my picks for future seasons of the Tales of… anthologies.
5. Tales Of The Clones
I know that we have gotten tons of stories about the Clones thanks to The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch, but there is so much more to tell! Most of the time that we see the clones they are fighting with the Jedi, and I want to see more of them in their personal time. Another great direction to take this season would be following Captain Rex and Echo when they went out on their own during season two of The Bad Batch. It is never made clear what they are doing or where they are going, and it would be amazing if we finally got to see that! I am also just desperate for more Clone and Dee Bradley Baker content!

4. Tales Of The Galactic Senate
This might seem like an odd choice since it would have the least amount of action, but I love the politics of Star Wars. We have been getting more senate content from The Clone Wars and Andor season one, but most of the content is either focused on how Palpatine is controlling everything or how rebels are infiltrating the Senate after the collapse of the Republic. I would love to see more of the mundane and day-to-day life of the senators. This is focused on a little bit in The Clone Wars and the episodes are really interesting. The season could focus on assassination attempts and could even look at the senate when Palpatine was a senator and not the Chancellor. We get practically no look at that senate when Chancellor Valorum is in power aside from Padme’s call for a vote of no confidence in The Phantom Menace.
3. Tales Of The New Republic
One of the aspects of Star Wars that has not been explored enough is the switch from the Empire to the New Republic. The season could follow how many of the people involved in making the laws for the New Republic had to switch their entire way of thinking. They went from being Rebels and breaking laws to helping create and enforce the law. One character that I would love to see the season focus on is Carson Teva. We get to see him in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, but I would love to see how he went from being a rebel fighter to a law enforcer for the New Republic.
2. Tales Of The Sith
It is honestly crazy to me that we got Tales of the Empire before Tales of the Sith. I know that the Empire is a pivotal part of Star Wars, but we have not gotten enough about the Sith, especially when it comes to Palpatine and his relationship with Darth Plagueis. We get the bit of story that Palpatine tells Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, and we saw a glimpse of Plagueis during the season finale of The Acolyte, but for two characters who are some of the most important in the franchise we really know nothing about them. There are plenty of directions this season could go, but if they don't dedicate at least half of the episodes to this pair then they are doing something wrong.
1. Tales Of The Bounty Hunter’s Guild
We need more stories about the Star Wars underworld, period. I don’t care if it focuses on the underbelly of Coruscant, the bounty hunters, or something else, but we desperately need more stories about this side of the franchise. I would love to see the Tales of… anthologies pay their respects to the late Carl Weathers by focusing on Greef Karga and his role as a leader in the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. The Guild is introduced to us in The Mandalorian season one, but we get no background on the creation or rules within it. We need to know more, and I would love to see more Greef Karga.
You can stream seasons one and two of the Tales of … anthologies on Disney+.
