The 10 Worst Star Wars Planets
Planets are a huge part of the Star Wars universe. There are countless planets in the galaxy, and more are even being introduced to this day. Fans have their favorites, the ones that are lush and full of life, have character, or even a special meaning. What about the least favorite planets? The ones not even characters in Star Wars want to set foot in. Most of these planets are terrible and inhospitable to anyone that doesn't live there. These are the 10 worst planets in Star Wars.
10. Jakku
While certainly not the worst planet, it's not the most ideal planet. This planet was first introduced in The Force Awakens. It's the planet where Rey was abandoned by her parents and has lived ever since. Jakku is desert and sand, and desert and sand and not much else. While Tatooine is also desert and sand, it has civilization and character. Jakku is not like that. It’s a junkyard, and even Han Solo calls it that.

9. Dagobah
The planet where Yoda resides is featured in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and is a swampy nightmare. It’s great if you need to hide, or even train a Jedi, as Yoda does with Luke, but anything else would be a nightmare, as it's hot, swampy, and the wildlife is unpredictable.
8. Nevarro
This planet was first introduced in The Mandalorian and is where Mando is commissioned to find a 50-year-old bounty, later revealed to be Grogu. A planet full of crime, bounty hunters, murderous creatures and volcanic activity makes this planet less than ideal.
7. Dathomir
The home of Darth Maul, Savage Opress, and Asajj Ventress, Dathomir is located in the Outer Rim. This planet is bathed in blood-red light thanks to its central star. While it is temperate and has a comfortable atmosphere, there are too many features that work against it.
The dangerous predators, the contrast of terrains, going from swampy to harsh and rocky make it unpredictable. Nightbrothers and Nightsisters also live here and would not make for good neighbors. Oh and rancors? No thank you.
6. Geonosis
While being the site of an iconic battle, it was also the site of where the Clone Wars began. There's also separatist history here, as battle droids were constructed to battle the clones. It is a hot desert with limited surface water and sounds miserable for anyone who is not from there.
5. Kamino
This planet does not seem welcoming to outsiders. With all the water, natives had to build their buildings on top of the water using stilts, as there was no land. Why would you want to settle on a planet with no land? It’s the site where Jango Fett and Obi-Wan fought, and where the clones were created, but is that really worth it for a planet like this?
4. Hoth
The snow planet at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back sounds like the worst place if you hate the cold. While it's definitely a good place to hide and lie low for a while, anything else may want to be reconsidered. Its cold temperatures, constant snowstorms, and angry creatures like the Wampa should discourage anyone from coming here. Luke Skywalker almost died on this planet, that should be reason enough to not come here.
3. Eadu
If you like constant fog, storms, and darkness all the time then this planet is the place for you! Located on the Outer Rim, and featured in Rogue One, this is the site where Galen Erso dies. It has a small population of “nerf herders” but overall seems miserable for everyone else.
2. Exegol
This planet was first introduced in The Rise of Skywalker. Not only does it have a history of Sith connections, but Snoke was created here by Palpatine too. It’s also dark, rocky, and stormy. It sounds absolutely miserable. A planet as desolate and ugly as this is good for creating Sith, and not much else.
1. Mustafar
This one is a no-brainer. A planet full of lava? It only makes sense for one character to call Mustafar home and that is none other than Darth Vader. I suppose it makes sense for someone like Darth Vader to build his castle here, as this is where it all began for him as Darth Vader. For everyone else, this would be the worst destination.
While some call these planets home, others would never step foot on these planets if they had the choice. These planets are ruthless whether it comes to weather, wildlife, or the natural elements. Some iconic characters even call some of these homes, whether by choice or not. Whatever it may be, these truly are the worst planets in Star Wars.
