‘Harry Potter’ Spin-Offs We’d Love To See
With the news that Harry Potter is getting a seven season, decades-long TV series, fans seem to be divided on whether or not they want a new adaptation or if they would rather see a completely new story told within the Wizarding World instead. I, for one, am ecstatic that the books are getting a TV adaption as it will allow for more content to make its way to our screens. However, I also agree that so many other stories need to be told as well! Let’s take a look at five Harry Potter spin-offs that I really hope we see get made along with the new series! Warning: This article will contain spoilers for Harry Potter books 1-7 and movies 1-8!
5. Origin Stories
We get some origin stories in the books and movies like Tom Riddle AKA Voldemort, a bit of Dumbledore, and Snape, but so many characters would make amazing origin series. The best way to approach this idea would be for Warner Bros. to create an origins anthology series where each season was a different origin story. My first pick for a character’s origin would be McGonagall. She has so much attitude and personality, yet we know nothing about her!

4. The Black Sisters
Fans have been asking for decades to get more content featuring the Black sisters Narcissa, Bellatrix, and Andromeda, and the closest thing we have gotten is a feature published in 2018 on the Wizarding World website. The Black family is a fascinating story as a whole, but the story of the three sisters and how they ended up where they are when we first meet them in the books and movies would make for an incredible series!
3. The Marauders
The Marauders were a group made up of James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew who were best friends that were notorious for their pranks. While we get a bit of their story in the books and movies, a series would allow fans more time with the fan-favorite group and Lilly and Snape.
2. The Founders
The Founders of Hogwarts and the four houses are some of the most underdeveloped characters in the franchise. We get very little information about them, yet they are some of the most important characters in the franchise. This would be the perfect prequel series!
1. Quidditch
We have not been given enough Quidditch! This is something that I hope the TV series will remedy since the movies cut most of the sport out of the movies, but even the books don’t give us enough. With the massive popularity of shows like Ted Lasso and the fact that the sport is one of the things that fans love most about the books and movies, it makes no sense that we have not gotten more of it! Hopefully, the new Quidditch video game that was recently announced will encourage Warner Bros. to consider this spin-off!
Harry Potter movies 1-8 are available to stream on HBO Max.
