Best Horror Movies Available On Paramount+
With so many streaming services available, it’s difficult to know where to find the best horror movies for spooky season. Especially with how the content on each service seems to change every month. I have compiled a list of the 10 best horror films available on each major streaming service, and we are starting with Paramount+. Each of these films is currently streaming and is included with the regular subscription package. There are more horror films available on the platform, however many of them are only available with the additional Show Time subscription.
10. Case 39 (2009)
This film flew under everyone’s radar which is crazy because it is so good and has an all-star cast with Bradley Copper, Ian McShane, and Renée Zellweger. It follows a social worker who meets a young girl who is being brutally abused by her parents. After the parents try to kill the young girl, the social worker assumes custody of her, and that is when the real horrors begin. This film is wild and has plenty of well-placed jump scares!

9. Smile (2022)
Smile was easily one of the most well-received horror films in recent years. The film follows a young doctor who, after having a horrifying experience with one of her patients, begins to experience unexplainable horrors. As the terror begins to take over her life, she is forced to confront her past if she has any hope of surviving.
8. The Uninvited (2009)
This film easily has the best twist ending of any film on this list! It follows a young woman who has recently been released from a psychiatric facility only to learn that her widowed father is now engaged to her mother’s former nurse. Things quickly take a dark turn as the young woman and her sister are plagued by horrifying events and visions all leading to a jaw-dropping finale. This film has one of my favorite endings ever!
7. A Quiet Place Franchise (2018-2020)
Paramount+ has both of the films currently released in the A Quiet Place franchise which is a perfect way to catch up before the release of A Quiet Place: Day One which is currently expected to be released early next year. The first film follows a family who must live in complete silence because there are horrifying creatures outside that track you by sound. The second film follows the family as they are forced to leave their home and travel to what they hope will be a safe haven.
6. Paranormal Activity Franchise (2007-2021)
Paramount+ has all seven of the films in this franchise, so you can easily binge it with your friends! The films follow the story of two sisters who are haunted by a demonic entity. The first four films as well as the sixth film follow this specific storyline, but the fifth and seventh films branch off and tell different stories that still center around horrifying demonic entities.
5. The Ring (2002)
Most millennials remember when this movie was first released because it either terrified you or inspired you to prank call your terrified friends. The film follows a newspaper journalist who hears about a VHS tape that kills you seven days after watching it. She doesn’t believe it until her niece becomes one of the victims. After viewing the tape, she gets the cursed phone call and sets out to solve the mystery of the tape before the end of her seven days.
4. Interview With The Vampire (1994)
This film follows Louis who is narrating his life’s story to an eager biographer. After the death of his family, he begins to throw his life away but is “saved” by a centuries-old vampire named Lestat who promises that by becoming a vampire he will gain a new life. Unfortunately, Louis’ life is not as glamorous as Lestat had promised. This is easily one of the best films that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have ever made!
3. The Blair Witch Project (1999)
This is one of the most influential films on this list since not only did its marketing campaign change the way horror films would be marketed forever, but it also jump-started the found footage subgenre. The film claims that it is footage found of a group of college students who went missing while researching The Blair Witch. The film starts with the group heading into town and interviewing the townspeople. Quickly though the footage becomes more terrifying as the group members go missing, and they are chased by an invisible entity.
2. Orphan: First Kill (2022)
This film is the prequel to 2009’s Orphan. Without giving any spoilers for the 2009 film, this movie follows Esther who is hiding a dark secret. The film takes place one year before the events of the first film, and it shows audiences more about who Esther is and how she ended up in the orphanage.
1. Scream Franchise (1996-Present)
Paramount+ has every movie in the Scream franchise except for Scream 4 which is disappointing since it is one of the best in the franchise. The franchise follows teens in Woodsboro who are being hunted by a masked killer known as Ghostface. Each film features a new killer, or killers, and the survivors of the previous film.
