7 Easter Eggs From 'The Bad Batch' Episode 7 'The Clone Conspiracy'
The latest episode of The Bad Batch is an absolute winner filled with cool references and Easter eggs. Here are seven that you may have missed on the first viewing.
7. Mas Amedda
Mas Amedda is Emperor Palpatine’s right-hand man and faithfully serves as Grand Vizier of the Empire until the Empire’s surrender to the New Republic after the Battle of Jakku. Although the Chagrien male does not have a large speaking role outside of this episode, he is instrumental in enforcing Palpatine’s will. After Order 66, he was even seen publicly burning many of the slain Jedi’s lightsabers.
6. Emergency Powers Act
In speaking against the Defense Recruitment Bill, Bail Organa reminded the Imperial Senate that through the Emergency Powers Act, then-Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was supposed to lay down his power after the Separatist crisis was averted.
A major plot point in Attack of the Clones, Jar Jar Binks put the Emergency Powers Act in motion, giving Palpatine power to create the Grand Army of the Republic. This paved the way for him to enact Order 66, destroy the Jedi Order, and replaced the Republic with the Empire.

5. Riyo Chuchi
The audience is reintroduced to Senator Riyo Chuchi who first appeared in the first season episode of The Clone Wars, “Trespass.” In that episode, Anakin and Obi-Wan assisted the timid senator and the overbearing Supreme Chairman Chi Cho on the Pantoran moon of Orto Plutonia. Senator Chuchi was also one of the senators in the background who were taken hostage in The Clone Wars episode “Hostage Crisis.”
4. Venators Over Coruscant
Near the end of Attack of the Clones, then-Supreme Chancellor Palpatine can be seen at the reveal of the Grand Army of the Republic and the Republic Navy. The Venators dotting Coruscant’s night sky in The Bad Batch episode mirror this shot, reminding us how Palpatine is still relying on much of the Republic to build his new empire.
3. Trace And Rafa’s Garage
Captain Rex brings the assassin to Trace and Rafa’s garage during “The Clone Conspiracy.” Captain Rex mentions that his friends own this garage and that Trace and Rafa would not mind. However, the assassin does not last long as he eats electric cyanide, essentially disposing of himself and any information he held.
Trace and Rafa are smuggler friends of Ahsoka that have worked odd jobs for Captain Rex in the past. The sisters previously appeared in The Bad Batch Season 1 episode “Decommissioned” when the Batch was tasked with recovering a tactical droid for Cid.
2. R2-C4
Every fan probably cheered at the appearance of the legendary Senator Bail Organa. However, the real cameo is the little astromech droid sent to retrieve Senator Chuchi. This is not R2-D2, but R2-C4.
R2-C4 first appeared in The Phantom Menace as a droid equipped in one of N-1 Naboo starfighters. R2-C4 was also seen in Star Wars Resistance, helping Kazuda Xiono’s squadron with delivering intel about the First Order to Poe Dameron.
1. 79’s And The Clone Conspiracy
The cantina frequented by clone troopers known as 79’s was first introduced in The Clone Wars arc where Fives uncover the conspiracy surrounding the inhibitor chip. It is no surprise that this “clone bar” reappear in The Bad Batch episode aptly named “The Clone Conspiracy.”
Both episodes play out in a much similar fashion as Fives, Slip, and Cade acquire information that could damage Palpatine and his new empire. Unfortunately, like Fives, both Slip and Cade would be silenced before they could reveal the truth about Vice Admiral Rampart giving the command to destroy Tipoca City and any remaining Kaminoans.
